Just about every major for-profit field benefits from trusted open source software infrastructure and associated standards that enable people and data to smoothly work together. In addition, most for-profit verticals have at least a handful of software-as-a-service platforms to meet the needs of organizations in that field. And yet, these types of solutions are largely absent from the equivalent areas of the social sector. This session will describe how Tech Matters filled this gap in the crisis response field, building an open source contact center platform that is easily customizable by organizations running helplines.
