The pandemic, George Floyd protests, and deepening climate crisis have all led to an acceleration of a trend that was already occurring – that corporations, in particular, are co-opting or taking advantage of the nonprofit sector instead of establishing meaningful structures to assist local communities in need. In this session, Kerrin Mitchell (Fluxx) and Tim Sarrantonio (Neon One) will review the role that corporate giving influences their respective work in grantmaking and individual giving and outline concrete steps that nonprofits, foundations, and corporations can work toward establishing a more equitable society for all.
